As mask mania kicked into high gear in 2020, the CDC and other public Heath agencies asserted that cloth masks played a critical role in mitigating virus transmission. It is therefore fascinating that at the same time, the CDC said that cloth masks would not protect you from wildfire smoke, which consist of particles larger than covid-19.
